(Quick Tip) Where to find the Temporary Files folder Location

Your encoding something, reading manuals at Microsoft Word or Internet Explorer then suddenly unexpected happens like, the power shuts down. Your saving all the files of the website your working and your backing up all the necessary files needed to keep the website information running.

Here’s how to find the temporary files folder location.

echo %temp% or echo %tmp%

C:\Users\hp>echo %tmp%
C:\Users\hp\AppData\Local\Temp

Are you having some problem cleaning up your computer?

C:\Windows\Temp is the location of the Users temporary files combined with the temporary files being use by the system itself.

Internet Explorer

If you want to clear all the temporary files so that internet explorer will download and get the new website data instead of the previous one, here’s the location of the temporary internet files for IE:

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

These are the stored files location needed to keep a website running with no problem (including cookies and other website information).

Just like old times - Switch user, sign out, sleep, shut down and restart Windows 8

Shutdown windows just like old times! here’s a quick tip to get back everything to Windows 8, by start menu or user interface? – sort of.

The trick is very simple, click any vacant space at the desktop and press Alt + F4… That’s it!

Switch user

- switch users without closing all the programs

Sign out

- Closes all programs and sign you out

Sleep

- The Personal Computer stays on but uses low power. Programs stay open so when the computer wakes up, you are instantly back to where you left off

Shutdown

- closes all programs and turns off the PC

Restart

- closes all apps, turns off the computer and then turns it on again

How do I sleep, restart, turn off and shutdown my Windows 8 PC?

Having some problem locating the shutdown option at Windows 8?

When you finish using your Computer, it's a great idea to turn it off properly because it will save energy, and also will help you to keep it more secure just make sure your work is saved properly.

Go to the the right edge portion of the screen, and then touch and tap the Settings Menu.

If you are using the mouse, go to the upper-right corner of the screen, and then click Settings.

Then at the bottom part - Click Power, and then choose which option will you go – Sleep, Shutdown and Restart.

Another way to access the power icon with the other options related like Lock, Switch User and Sign Out is to press CTRL + ALT + DELETE and at the right most portion your can go to the following options – sleep, shutdown and restart.

How to customize and change the color of your taskbar and window borders at Windows 8

Calibrate and personalize the color of borders and windows taskbar.

By going to the Right-Click menu portion of your Windows 8 desktop, we can customize the color of taskbar easily.

Once, the visuals and sound of your computer configuration window are shown, click the “Color” option.

Android: How to use the 24 Hour format or vice-versa

The term "military time" is usually given or synonym for the 24-hour clock. It is commonly used in areas specialize for military, aviation, astronomy, hospitals and tourism. The 24-hour clock is a convention of time keeping in which the day runs and divided into 24 hours, indicated by the hours from 0 to 23.

Let’s configure android to 24 hour format.

Go to the Settings icon –> scroll down until you reach the Date and Time Menu

To run the android clock in 24-hr format

Once the date and time setting are shown, click to check the option “Use 24-hour format”.

To use the default 12 hour format, just unchecked the option.

Command prompt syntax to show Computer Name

Computers on a network have a unique names so they can be recognize, identify and communicate with each other. It is a label given to a device connected to a computer network and that is used to name a device in various forms of electronic communication.

Here’s how to determine and find the computer name using the command prompt:
